		<description>Dear Friends,
very nice to read your comments on the MARZANINO tomato !!The shape infact is unique and the taste super !!! Concerning the origin of Marzanino : it's true that this variety has been developed by a Dutch seedcompany called De Ruiter Seeds, but as "parental lines" (needed to make a hybrid) pure Italian local varieties have been used !! Employees of the Italian brand of De Ruiter Seeds (De Ruiter Sementi) found these local selections in the garden of a Southern Italian convent of munks. There , the taste of hundreds of years ago has been preserved !! MARZANINO tomatoes can only be grown by higly qualified growers in several countries under control of De Ruiter Seeds.Concerning the "protection"(patent) you write about :there iss NO patent on this tomato but only the NAME has been protected as a Trade Mark (TM). This in order to avoid that people abuse the brandname MARZANINO and grow and sell inferior varieties under this brandname! So to protect the final consumer from bad quality products. And last but not least :concerning "gentechnics" :all the vegetable varieties developed and seeds sold by De Ruiter Seeds are ABSOLUTELY bred in the natural way without the use of GMO (Genetically Modified Organism). For any other information pleasee do not hesitate contacting me !! Buon appetito and Ciao ciao !!!
